Thompson Trading Company is a family owned wholesale distributor and commission merchant whose sales force services all the major inhabited islands of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.

Under the present name, the company was incorporated in the summer of 1981 when it acquired the 30 year established distributor Max R. Roberts Wholesale Ltd.

The company underwent a major expansion upon the absorption of The General Agency Ltd. in March 1988. The General Agency was established in 1926 and continues to trade under the company umbrella of Thompson Trading.

The administrative office, showroom, and warehouses (100,000 sq.ft.) are located on Shirley Street in Nassau, the capital and major trading centre of The Bahamas. The staff of one hundred plus includes a twenty-four man strong sales force, seventeen merchandisers and the company operates thirty-one delivery trucks. The company has invested over $1,000,000 in computerized accounting, inventory control, warehouse, productivity, and sales systems.

With the absorption of The General Agency, Thompson Trading is now the oldest export account in the world for The Quaker Oats Company. In addition the company represents :: Pepsi, Gatorade, Colgate-Palmolive, Burtons Biscuits (U.K.), Hormel Foods, Wrigley's, Blue Diamond, Welch’s Juices, Star Snacks, 3M, Mckee Foods, Proline, Sathers Inc., Reckitt Benckiser, BIC Corp., and many others with an SKU total over 4,000!
